In May 1988, the Seminary opened its doors to a group of lay people who were interested in participating in the Seminary’s opportunities for spiritual growth, and who were committed to the Seminary’s development. This group, known as “Friends of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception,” represent a cross-section of parishioners from the Dioceses of Rockville Centre and Brooklyn. Membership includes men and women from all walks of life. Funds raised by the Friends help support the Seminary’s mission of formation and education in the Catholic faith in service of the Local and Universal Church.
Members of the Friends are invited to join committees according to their interests and talents. Standing Committees are:
Spirituality & Education
Rose Garden

Working with the Seminary Development Office, the Friends organize and host several annual events at the Seminary. The Seminary is deeply indebted to the membership for their continuing support. Tangible evidence of their devotion and loyalty is the Seminary Rose Garden, cultivated and maintained by volunteers under the direction of the Rose Garden Committee. This lovely garden provides a perfect spot for prayer, meditation and reflection. We invite you to join the Friends and become involved with their unique mission.
