Exciting Events Happening at the Seminary:
The Seminary of the Immaculate Conception is pleased to announce that Bishop Murphy has appointed Rev. Gregory Rannazzisi as the Vice Rector of the Seminary. Fr. Rannazzisi is a priest of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY. Born and raised on Long Island, Fr. Greg attended St. Anthony’s High School and then received his Bachelors in Philosophy and Theology from Fordham University. After seminary formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Bishop William Murphy ordained Fr. Greg in June 2009. He holds a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Fr. Greg first served at St. Brigid’s Parish in Westbury, a dynamic community that encompasses a variety of ethnic groups, languages and extensive outreach, youth and education ministries. He is also the Catholic Chaplain at Hofstra University, coordinating the sacramental life and programs for the faculty, staff and students involved in Catholic Campus Ministry. In 2010, Bishop Murphy appointed Fr. Greg to the diocesan ecumenical and interfaith commission as his liaison with Long Island’s Muslim and Eastern religion populations.
